About
Mark is a retired Army Command Sergeant Major with 26 years of service. He entered active military service on 9 June 1981 and retired on 1 January 2007. He spent half of his career overseas in Europe and Asia. His military occupational specialties include Field Artillery Cannon Crewman, Nuclear Weapons Specialist, and Ammunition Specialist.
Mark served in all leadership positions, from squad leader to Command Sergeant Major. His senior leadership positions included: serving as the CSM of the 6th Ordnance Battalion (Camp Carroll, Korea), the Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, -Garrison CSM, the Interim CSM for the Army’s Aviation and Missile Command, a tour of duty with the Human Resource Command as the Ordnance Branch Assignment Manager for Ordnance missile maintenance, ammunition, and EOD Soldiers. He also served as a platoon sergeant, operations sergeant, and two tours as a First Sergeant.
Mark is also an author on leadership, training, evaluation, and mentoring. In 2000, Mark published a book entitled The Mentor. He published 15 other books and co-author another 17 books, eight software products, and seven mobile applications. His publications and software have sold over 1,000,000 copies and are top sellers in the military market. Many of Mark’s products are used as unofficial military training resources. He earned a Master’s Degree in Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management from Central Michigan University. He is married to his wife Patricia of 41 years. They have one daughter, and reside in Huntsville, Alabama.
